NETBALL STAR PEACE PROSCOVIA JOINS REPTON'S COACHING TEAM

Repton School is thrilled to welcome the exceptional Peace Proscovia to our netball coaching team. An icon in the world of netball, Peace brings with her an extraordinary level of experience and passion. Her journey as a player and leader, which spans continents and leagues, will undoubtedly inspire the Repton netballers she is coaching.

Currently, Peace is the captain of the Ugandan national netball team and previously played professionally for Surrey Storm. Her stellar career began with Loughborough Lightning in the Netball Superleague, and she also played for Sunshine Coast Lightning in Australia's Super Netball league. Internationally, Peace led the Ugandan national team to victory at the 2013 Netball Singapore Nations Cup and the 2017 African Netball Championship. In a recent announcement, Peace was also appointed the new BUCS coach at Loughborough University.

At Repton, Peace has been working with both the Senior and Prep netball squads since the start of the term. Reflecting on her first few weeks, Peace shared how impressed she was with the dedication and enthusiasm the girls have shown towards the sport.

"The passion and enthusiasm the pupils have towards sports coupled with their willingness to learn is truly inspiring" she said. "I believe in knowledge transfer, and I have been fortunate to play netball internationally. My desire now is to transfer my knowledge into the young generation and make them even better at what they love doing."

Peace's coaching philosophy is rooted in mastering the basics. She emphasises the importance of helping the players excel at the foundational skills of netball, believing that "excellence in the simple things provides the foundation for success at every level of sport and life." Beyond skills, Peace aims to foster an environment where the players feel empowered and heard. Her participatory approach to coaching encourages the girls to take ownership of their development, allowing them to grow as both players and individuals.

Looking ahead, Peace will continue her work with the netballers throughout the academic year, with an exciting netball camp scheduled during October half-term. With her guidance, the future of Repton netball looks incredibly bright, and we are eager to see our players thrive under her mentorship.
