REPTON APPOINTS JAMIE MAIN AS DIRECTOR OF SWIMMING FROM JANUARY 2025

Repton is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Jamie Main as Repton's Director of Swimming.

Jamie will join Repton from his position as the National Coach at The Aquatics GB Bath Performance Centre, having recently coached senior international teams and athletes at The 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, The 2023 World Aquatic Championships in Japan, and The 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Jamie will bring an unparalleled level of expertise and experience to Repton’s programme having developed both junior and senior international swimmers across all strokes and disciplines to international honours, including 16-year-old Jacob Whittle to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo and guiding Kieran Bird to Olympic Gold as part of the 4x200m Freestyle relay team in Paris.

Jamie’s appointment coincides with the continued growth and success of Repton Swimming. Repton swimmer Eva Okaro was selected for Team GB at the 2024 Paris Olympics as part of the Women’s Freestyle Relay Team, and Megan Neave finished fourth in the 100m Backstroke at the Paralympic Games. Repton also placed fourth in The 2024 National Arena League Final and finished in the top five clubs at the Aquatics GB Summer Championships.

Repton’s Headmaster Mr Mark Semmence is delighted to welcome Jamie Main to Repton, saying: “We have enjoyed remarkable success on the regional, national, and international stage since we founded the Repton swimming programme in 2019. We know that Jamie’s considerable experience and credentials as one of Britain’s leading swimming coaches will give pupils and club members the leadership necessary to build on our recent success.”

Jamie Main commented: “I’m delighted to be joining Repton. The School and the swimming programme offers a unique opportunity for emerging talent. Our goal is to guide swimmers towards their full potential and Repton is the perfect environment to facilitate this. I look forward to working with the swimmers and staff to continue the progress made in recent years.”

Jamie will be joined at Repton by his wife and they are expecting their first child in the near future.
