REPTON SCHOOL WELCOMES MARK WATKINS' 'COLLAGES' EXHIBITION

We were thrilled to welcome an exciting new art exhibition at Repton School, showcasing the dynamic collage work of renowned artist Mark Watkins.

Mark Watkins has been making waves across the UK and internationally, with recent exhibitions in Italy, Finland, and Colombia. We’re proud to bring some of his freshest work straight from the Brewhouse Gallery in Burton, alongside brand-new pieces created exclusively for this show. The exhibition is a fantastic opportunity for Reptonians and the wider community to witness a compelling body of work that continues to push the boundaries of contemporary collage.

Mark's work embodies the spirit of reinvention—layering images, splicing elements, and combining textures to form new narratives. Collage is one of the most avant-garde media today, resonating with a world increasingly blending experiences, cultures, and ideas. In many ways, this art form reflects the essence of the 'post'-postmodern world we find ourselves in, where lines blur, contexts shift, and new meanings emerge from old forms.

Whether you’re intrigued by surrealism, enjoy the everyday elegance of impressionism, or simply appreciate the vibrant use of colour and texture, Mark’s collages will speak to your artistic sensibilities. From hidden narrative puzzles for mystery lovers to bursts of colour for the visually attuned, this show offers a rich, multifaceted experience.

In addition to the exhibition, Mark host a series of talks and workshops for our art pupils, allowing them to engage directly with his creative process. It’s a wonderful opportunity for Reptonians to learn from an artist who is not only celebrated for his work but also for his innovative approach to contemporary art.
