REPTON PREP U12s MAKE SCHOOL HISTORY WITH NATIONAL FINAL APPEARANCE

Repton Prep’s U12 football team has made history, achieving what no other Repton Prep team has done before - reaching the final of the ESFA U12 Small Schools Cup. With 116 teams entering the competition, the road to the final has been an incredible journey, showcasing the team’s talent.

Under the expert guidance of Head of Football Ian Clarkson, the team has competed through six rounds, overcoming strong opposition along the way. Their campaign began with a dominant 7-0 victory setting the tone for the tournament.

A quarter-final clash proved to be their toughest test yet, ending 2-2 after extra time. However, the team held their nerve in the penalty shootout, securing a dramatic 4-1 win to book their place in the national final.

The final, to be played at West Bromwich Albion’s stadium, promises to be a thrilling occasion and a chance for the team to etch their names into the school’s sporting history.

Until now, the furthest any Repton Prep football team had reached in this competition was the semi-finals, a feat achieved twice before. This year has been particularly special for football at the Prep, with the U13 Girls also making history by reaching the ESFA semi-finals—the furthest any Repton Prep girls' team has gone in the competition.

A huge congratulations to our U12s for this remarkable achievement. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
