U11 & U13 GIRLS’ FOOTBALL TEAMS WIN THE ISFA CUP MIDLANDS QUALIFIER

Congratulations to both our U11 and U13 girls’ football teams who have secured their places in the upcoming national finals by winning the Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) Midlands regional cup finals.

Above all at Repton Prep we value what sport brings out in our pupils: teamwork, dedication, resilience, leadership and a sense of achievement - both collectively and individually. This was evident in abundance throughout the tournament when all of the effort that the girls had put into training, come rain or shine, individually and as a team was rewarded.

Repton Prep’s Head of Football and former professional player, Mr Ian Clarkson, celebrated the girls’ win commenting: “After a long time away from competitive fixtures we are so proud that the two teams have been triumphant in the regional finals. The girls played with real determination, especially those in the U13 team who are U12s playing up an age group. We are already focused on training for the national finals in June and everyone at Repton is looking forward to cheering them on.”

The popularity of girls’ football at Repton Prep has flourished over recent years with the addition of an intra-school competition, a dedicated after-school club and the option to take part in mixed football. It is fantastic to see girls participating in competitive fixtures and tournaments and that their enthusiasm and skills are being rewarded.
